McCarthy finds success in Switzerland
Former Bridgewater State University quarterback Mike McCarthy is undefeated in his first two professional starts in Europe. Mike is the starting quarterback for the Geneva Seahawks. He began his season with 43-16 and 48-6 victories. During Mike McCarthy’s impressive start, he has thrown for four touchdowns and run for three. He was contacted by European teams this past winter after impressing representatives with his athleticism at the All-American Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Senior quarterback Mike McCarthy (Edgartown, Mass.) amassed 402 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns to earn his third straight Lee Harrington Most Valuable Player Trophy in leading Bridgewater State to a 45-20 victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the 35th Annual Cranberry Bowl Presented By Ocean Spray Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium. McCarthy completed 20-of-30 pass attempts for 273 yards to set the Bears' career passing yards mark of 4,672, breaking the previous record of 4,628 held by Dan Maurer from 1996-99. November 16th, 2013
